What’s The Highest Blood Alcohol Content YOU’VE Ever Had? Can You Beat .91%?

Blood Alcohol TesterEverybody should have access to a portable Blood Alcohol Tester when they go out to a bar or a party.

That way, you’ll know whether you can drive home, take a taxi/stay the night, or go straight to the hospital due to alcohol poisoning.

And since you really shouldn’t have a BAC higher than – oh, let’s say 0.08% – having yourself tested once in a while really isn’t a bad idea.  Remember, kids – a BAC of 0.4% or higher is really, really, really bad.

Here’s a list of 15 people who have had RECORD SETTING BLOOD ALCOHOL LEVELS where such a device probably would have helped them:

How To Find Your Favorite NFL Team on TV

Carolina Panthers DVDWhen you are a fan of a particular NFL team and don’t live in that city’s local viewing area, you really only have these choices for being able to watch your favorite team play on TV:

  • Hope that your team is playing in one of the weekly nationally-televised games (Sunday night football, Monday Night Football, one of those Thanksgiving games, or that random Thursday or Saturday night game that gets national coverage)
  • Hope that your local FOX or CBS affiliate is carrying the national 4p game that week in a double-header and that your team is in it
  • Get DirecTV’s Sunday Ticket, so you can pay more money than you should just to watch that one game every week
  • Go to the local smoke-filled sports bar and watch the game on one of the bar’s big screens… and if you’re lucky you’ll get the game audio instead of having to watch it with closed captions
  • Watch the game later on a replay aired on the NFL Network
  • Follow along online via nfl.com’s game stats/scoreboard page

Or you have the most common option: rely on your local CBS or FOX affiliate to decide which games they’re going to air in their markets.  The worst part is that they don’t have to make that decision until late in the week preceding the game date.

March 2009 Was Incredibly Indecent (according to the FCC)

The FCC has released their QUARTERLY REPORT ON INFORMAL CONSUMER INQUIRIES AND
COMPLAINTS
, covering January-March 2009.

It’s the usual government summary paper, filled with lots of mumbo-jumbo, charts, and big words to fill up all 11 pages when probably two or three pages would have done just fine.

But if you take the time to read through all that ick, you’ll see an interesting statistic:  according to the FCC, March 2009 was incredibly indecent for TV viewers and radio listeners.

Remember when MTV was cool and we’d rush home from school to turn on the channel just to watch the lastest, craziest music videos?

And remember how they’d do specialty shows like 120 Minutes where you might not know all the bands that were being played, but the videos were cool?

So now we have YouTube, but the thrill of finding some video before your friends have seen it is still a good time.

With that in mind, here are some international music videos that may make you laugh, sing along, or marvel at some of the technological goodness that comes with making videos for today’s wired music video fan.

This first video features fans of the band working their webcams. Cool idea!

50 Things that the Internet Has Made Obsolete

As we become more-and-more invested in using the Internet and other new technology, more and more things are becoming obsolete as they are being rendered useless.

Payphones?  No longer needs as everyone has a cell phone.

Telephone books?  There’s a huge cutback on printing and distributing them as everyone just looks numbers up on the Internet or calls 411.

Ethernet cords? Why bother running a 20′ long cable from the wall to the kitchen table if you can go wireless?

In that vein, the Telegraph has decided to put together their list of 50 THINGS THAT THE INTERNET HAS KILLED.
