Facebook has become an addiction.

Everywhere you look, people are busy hunched over their phones or laptops, feverishly updating their statuses, posting on friends’ walls, playing Farmville or word games — in essence, doing everything OTHER than what they’re supposed to be doing.

Facebook is having a negative effect on business and the economy — in one study earlier this year, over 6% of all URLs accessed by businesses were being sent to Facebook, and that Facebook accounted for 4.5% of all Internet bandwidth. Just imagine if all that effort spent on poking and updating had been spent on actual work, we’d all be in a much better economic state-of-mind.

Besides, don’t forget that CHARLIE WAS FIRED FROM HIS JOB FOR USING FACEBOOK. Granted, he was spending up to 4 hours a day on Facebook – so that might have something to do with it – but he certainly hasn’t been the only one that was fired for Facebooking while on company time.

What’s the first thing you think to yourself whenever you hear the news that a friend of yours is getting a divorce?

Usually, it’s “Why?”

And it’s not always because you care about the people involved with the marriage — usually it’s just morbid curiousity. Sometimes the marriage has just run its course and it’s time for both parties to move along to the next phase in their lives. Sometimes there are personal, philosophical, moral, financial, or other extended circumstances that just make for juicy neighborhood gossip.

Web Watch knows one couple whose marriage was dissolved within 30 days of the wedding. It’s not important that it ended up being the right thing to do for the people involved, that entire event is still a topic of conversation many years later, in part because it’s just a great dramatic (and slightly amusing) story.

Which brings us to another reason why some marriages end in divorce, as seemingly brought up in the news when Sandra Bullock won her Oscar — sometimes men don’t want to be married to women who are more successful than they are.

Web Watch knows that there’s nothing that tastes better than some meat cooked fresh on the grill.

And when it’s football season, you have to have a grill to really do the tailgate up right. Web Watch even won a Weber Grill a few years ago in a football tailgating cookoff contest with our grilled steak sandwich with carmelized onions. One of the judges even came back to our setup and took an extra sandwich with them “for the road” when the competition was over.

So we have that going for us.

Which brings us back to today’s point – that when it comes to tailgating and grilling, nobody knows their stuff better than the folks over at Weber.

A study has concluded that THE WAY YOU USE THE TOILET CAN AFFECT YOUR HEALTH.

This really isn’t anything new, as proper toilet use has been studied since the 1960’s at least. At question is whether the upright, “European-style” toilets where one properly sits as if on their own personal throne, is good for you or not versus the time-worn method of evacuating by squatting over a convenient hole in the ground.
