Why does your front-loader washing machine smell like mildew?

The other day, Web Watch was asked whether we knew anything about FRONT-LOADING WASHING MACHINES.

Of course, we did. So we sat down on a nearby chair to hear our friend’s problem.

He was having trouble, as he had gone over to his girlfriend’s house to do some laundry (and, we’ll assume, have a little bit of “we time” while the wash was getting done).

But his girlfriend had a front-loading washing machine, and it just stunk up the place.  It smelled so bad, our friend said, that he was concerned about whether it would actually get his clothes clean.

Web Watch told him not to worry.  Front-loading washing machines are great.

But you have to follow these simple steps to ensure that it doesn’t get all stinky on you:

The one non-negotiable item you MUST pack in your suitcase

Web Watch was on a trip recently, and as we often do, we found ourselves chatting with others in the airport.

And we sometimes find ourselves inquiring about people’s destinations and plans.  You know, to live vicariously through others ont their adventures.

One couple, for example, was on a month-long tour of Australia and New Zealand, and they were travelling lightly through the airport – as they shipped their luggage overseas to meet them at their hotel upon arrival (it was less expensive overall than flying with the oversized/overweight bags, and they already had confirmation that their bags were waiting for them).

Another person was going to spend a week in San Diego on business, and he was travelling with just his oversized computer bag.  He claimed that he had everything he needed in the one case for a week; he prefers to travel with as little complication as possible.

How do you play with your dog?

You own a dog.  But your dog gets bored, and decided to chew up your furniture.

Hey, it happens.

Dogs need seemingly constant attention and distractions to keep them occupied and entertained.  While cats could care less about the humans they keep around to help get them tuna every once in a while, a dog craves interaction with their owner.

The best Kale and Brussels Sprouts Salad Recipe

If there are two vegetables that tend to turn off carnivores at the very mention of them, two top qualifiers would be “kale” and “Brussels sprouts” (or “brussel sprouts”, if you’re into spelling it wrong).

Kale is typically used as a garnish rather than something you’d willingly go out of your way to make a salad from.  (And for those of you who’ve decided that pushing kale through your Mr Juicer because kale juice is said to help grow hair, it’s kinda gross from what we’ve seen our friends go through.)

And everybody knows that Brussels sprouts taste best when sauteed in tons and tons of bacon fat.
