Twitter Users are a Bunch of Quitters… and other Twitter Usage Statistics

A report came out this week about Twitter, regarding how users new to Twitter use the service, a STATE OF THE TWITTERSPHERE, if you will.

In short, the conclusion is that the vast majority of Twitter accounts are inactive at best.  Some users sign in and tweet just once, resulting in an ORPHAN TWEET.  If you happen to run across one yourself, feel free to retweet it with the #orphantweet hashtag.

The bigger question, however, is how prevelant are these orphan tweets?   Consider this:  as in real-life, so goes Twitter:  the top 10% of the most active Twitter users account for over 90% of the overall Twitter traffic.

Survey: What’s Your Favorite Fast Food?

ZAGAT surveyed 6,100 hungry fast-food and full-service restaurant patrons about their favorite places to eat, and has finally compiled and released the results for 2009.

The best fast-food hamburger, which should come as no surprise to anyone who has eaten there, is from IN-N-OUT BURGER.   Best burger from a full-service restaurant came from RED ROBIN.

Visiting Every Starbucks in the World

Winter is trying to VISIT EVERY STARBUCKS IN THE WORLD.

His most recent journey started at the end of May 2009, and he hopes to add to his total of over 9,000 visited Starbucks stores (out of a possible 16,000+) by the end of his eight-month trip. 

The biggest obstacle at hand?  Starbucks’ recent announcement to close 200 more stores that included some locations that Winter hadn’t visited yet.

Disgruntled Employees Pee and Poop All Over their Offices

Business Insider is reporting a disturbing new trend in employee response to the current economy:  DISGRUNTLED EMPLOYEES ARE POOPING AROUND THE OFFICE.

Merrill Lynch spokespeople are not confirming this, but employees are reporting that they found a turd in the stairwell of the New York bank headquarters last week.

Nobody has come forward to claim ownership of the poo.

Glamour Magazine recently reported the RESULTS OF A SURVEY THAT ASKED 1,000 WOMEN ABOUT THEIR BATHROOM (and other gross) HABITS.

Why would they do this?  Because after Kelly Clarkson admitted that she pees in the shower, peeing in the shower became the “it” thing to do.

The article points out one simple fact:  if you eat 100 fewer calories a day for an entire year and change absolutely nothing else about your exercise or diet plan, then you will be taking in 36,500 fewer calories over the course of those 365 days.

100 fewer calories a day.  That should be easy.

One less fat-free Jell-O Pudding Cup.

One less slice of bread.

One less bottle of original VitaminWater (the full caloric version).
