The Airline Passenger’s Bill of Rights

The Air Traveler's Survival Guide: The Plane Truth From 35,000 Feet
Buy “The Air Traveler’s Survival Guide: The Plane Truth From 35,000 Feet”

Web Watch loves to travel, but we hate having to share our travelling space with strangers who don’t understand the RULES OF TRAVELLING.

It can be the basics – such as “don’t touch our luggage at baggage claim”, or “don’t hog all the electrical outlets at the airport”.

But it can also be the more courteous items, such as “don’t power-lean your airplane seat back onto our laptop so it cracks the screen.”  Yes, this has happened to us, and the airline says that there’s nothing they can do as it wasn’t their fault for the other passenger’s stupidity, negligence, and overall inconsideration.

There’s a reason why a product like KNEE DEFENDERS exists – it’s not to be rude to our fellow passengers by preventing them from relaxing, but it’s to protect our fellow passengers from pissing us off.  It ends up being a much more pleasant travelling experience for all involved when these are in play.

2011 Nude Recreation Week is July 4th-10th. How will YOU celebrate?

Nude Beach sign - swimsuits optional, voyeruism prohibited
Nude Beach sign – swimsuits optional

July 4-10, 2011 is NATIONAL NUDE RECREATION WEEK, according to the American Association for Nude Recreation.

So who is the AANR?  It’s only a group of 200,000+ people who just like being naked; they find nothing wrong or ashamed about the human body, and don’t mind sitting around in the buff with other like-minded folks.

We knew you would ask – the AANR’s headquarters are in Kissimmee, Florida — just a few minutes away from Walt Disney World. Coincidence? We think not.

Which city consumes the most hot dogs?

IOld-fashioned Hot Dog roller cooker

The other day, Web Watch was standing in the customer line at our favorite Sausage Shack to gather up some grilling supplies for July 4th weekend.

The gentleman behind us was talking about his love of “natural casing” hot dogs, because he was from Connecticut and knew what he was talking about.  After all, he said, Connecticut consumes more hot dogs than any other state.

As we were intrigued by this comment, Web Watch sensed a challenge.

How can anyone get married and not go on a decent honeymoon to some exotic locale?

Web Watch knows someone who’s idea of an exotic honeymoon destination was Branson, Missouri.  And before you comment to mock the happy couple – they’ve been together 15 years and have been back to Branson a number of times.

Different strokes for different folks. It’s what makes their relationship special.
