Ah. Fresh air smells good, right?

Well, a recent study has come out that shows that the air you breath – especially if you’re living in an urban area – contains more than its fair share of CANINE FECAL MATERIAL in that air. The study, entitled SOURCES OF BACTERIA IN OUTDOOR AIR ACROSS CITIES IN THE MIDWESTERN UNITED STATES was commissioned to identify what types of bacteria would be found in urban areas. Would there be differences based on urban population, the season, or other elements?

Remember back when we told you that DOCTORS AND NURSE WERE SPREADING GERMS EVERYWHERE THEY GO?

Apparently, MSNBC didn’t use us as a reference when they published their story yesterday entitled HOSPITAL GARB HARBORS NASTY BACTERIA. Frequent Web Watch readers, however, would already have known this and would have said “pfffft” to MSNBC’s late coverage of this important health-related topic.

Man sues Hotel over “free” Newspaper

Web Watch likes staying at hotels, especially nice ones.

The rooms are typically clean, comfortable. Staff service is friendly and they go out of their way to make us feel welcome and safe when travelling in an unfamiliar city.

One recent hotel stay even had the front desk manager give us a complimentary bottle of wine when we checked in after the “complimentary wine hour” was over. Granted, while it was drinkable wine, it wasn’t anything overly high-end. Still, the thought was there and the wine was certainly enjoyed that evening. We’ll definitely be back to that hotel again.

Now that the summer camp season is winding down and kids are heading back to school, Web Watch wanted to take a moment to share with you a story that would have freaked some parents out and led to unhappy summer vacations if we had shared it a month ago when this first crossed our browser.

It ends up that SUMMER CAMPS ARE GETTING IN TROUBLE FOR APPLYING SUNSCREEN TO CAMPERS.

And it’s all because some parents are extra-sensitive about who should be allowed to touch their children, even when done in a supervisory manner by workers in child-oriented jobs.

Wal-Mart has a policy of having “greeters” at the front door of all their stores.

One of the jobs that the greeters and security staff are tasked with is to double-check receipts to ensure that everything that is being carried out has been paid for per the receipt.

Mary Hill Bonin and her husband are suing Wal-Mart for the Wal-Mart staff doing their job.

Unfortunately, it’s the Wal-Mart staff that allegedly appears to have acted inappropriately in this case. All Mary and “Ricky” wanted to do was buy $2.90 worth of chicken necks. According to the Wal-Mart security guard, the chicken neck was being shoplifted – that is, being taken out of the store without having been paid for.
