Canadians hate sex

Apparently, Canadians hate sex.

To be fair, it’s not all Canadians, and it’s not that they hate sex — it’s just that some Canadians have sex lower on their priority scale than other things.

Today’s teenagers are not having sex as early as their parents did

How old were you when you first had sex?

And if you have kids that age, have you taken the time to have THAT conversation with them, to ensure that your kids don’t make the same mistake (or have the same fun) that you had when you were their age?

Chances are, you haven’t.  Web Watch doesn’t know many parents who have had that conversation at all.

But it may end up that today’s parents shouldn’t be that discouraged about their kids bumping uglies in an unresponsible manner, according to a recent report from the CDC.

Only 15% of Americans avoid food poisoning by doing just one thing

Having food poisoning is not pretty, either for you or those around you.

Web Watch knows – the one time it hit us, we were trying to enjoy a group outing while on a trip away from home.  You’d be surprised how quickly getting that ill, that quickly will identify who your real traveling companions are (hint: that number is close to zero during that time period — when it comes to food poisoning, you’re going to be mainly on your own).

So what can you do to avoid getting food poisoning?

Unfortunately, the majority of food poisoning occurs while you’re away from home, eating at restaurants with poor health scores or who happened to receive tainted food themselves.

In other words, when you’re eating out, there’s not much you can do if someone serves you bad food that really, really disagrees with you.

25 Ways to Tell that You’re Living in a Bubble

The other day, Web Watch was talking with an Internet-savvy friend of ours about the cool stuff we see online, and they surprised us by not knowing anything about the latest smartphone gaming craze, DRAW SOMETHING.

Seriously?  The game has been out for over 2 months now, been all over the news.  And while we haven’t explicitly mentioned it here, we figured that many of our faithful Web Watch readers had already installed it over their copy of Angry Birds.

What it really showed us was that our friend was living in their own little bubble world that they had created, to isolate themselves from the ‘net fluffernutter so they could concentrate on the really good stuff.

You know, kinda like what we do here every day at Web Watch.

Just like your underwear, sales are creeping up

Web Watch has previously covered news regarding how one can tell that the economy is picking up based on the increase in underwear sales.

But isn’t it time to take a look at exactly what type of worldwide retail trends we should be looking at when it comes to our underwear purchases?

Pop Quiz: in an emergency, would you rather save your pet or another person?

Web Watch would like to own a dog, but we’re more “borrow a dog” people over “own a dog” people.  Too much hair and upkeep with a moving pet.  We owned one of those beta fighting fish for a year or two.  That seemed to work out okay, since the fish seemed to stay in its jar throughout the day.

But we’ve never owned a pet where we had an emotional connection that would come into play in an emergency situation.

So we ask you:  in an emergency, if you only have one option – to save your pet or to save a person – which would you choose?

More scientific proof that men are funnier than women (but your spouse is funny, too)

Web Watch has previously written about how MEN ARE FUNNIER THAN WOMEN before, so in some ways reporting on these latest findings is a bit like rubbing salt into a wound.

The difference in this survey is that the participants couldn’t consider any professional comedians in their answers… and even with that caveat, the results still came out the same.

Did Susan G Komen make the right decision?

Pink Darth Vader Helmet

(because even though Darth Vader is evil, he still supports the fight against Breast Cancer)

Today, Web Watch received a flood of emails from friends and family regarding the Susan G. Komen Foundation pulling their financial contributions to Planned Parenthood.

There is even a petition asking Susan G Komen to restore their relationship with Planned Parenthood.

That there is controversy surrounding what the Susan G Komen Foundation does with their money, and that there is a brouhaha surrounding the marketing of the pink ribbon to raise money for breast cancer research, is nothing new.  The people who are commenting on the petition are acting all shocked and surprised that Such A Thing Is Going On, when Web Watch has told you about this for years.

If you have ever downloaded anything illegally, you may want to visit this site

BitTorrent for Dummies
BitTorrent for Dummies

Remember how much fun Napster was, back in the day?

Yeah, well Napster is officially gone now.

What about LimeWire?  KaZaa?   Yeah, you shouldn’t be using those either.

Nope, whether you agree with the legalities (or lack thereof) of those sites, none of the old fun “file sharing” apps and websites are valid anymore, thanks to the movie and music industry.

And the proliferation of $0.99 songs and apps on the iTunes store.  That kinda helped a little bit.

Of course, you always have that peer-to-peer sharing via BitTorrent, which is a legitimate way to legally share giant files amongst people who need them.  Unfortunately, a few bad apples had to go and ruin BitTorrent for everyone else too, by using BT as a way to throw around pirated movies and music.

Study: Women suppress the sexuality of other women

Leave it to Cleavage
Leave it to Cleavage

It’s true – it’s all about the boobs.

We’ve all seen it, how catty women can get about other women’s appearances?

It’s not just because there’s a superior sense of fashion going on here, women really do have reason to hate other women — and it really does come down to boobs and cleavage.

Latest trend in teenage drinking techniques? Vodka-soaked tampons and “butt chugging”

Smirnoff Vodka

Parents — there’s a disturbing new trend amongst teenagers who are trying to get drunk in the most unique ways possible.

A few years ago, dropping shots of vodka directly into your eyes was the allegedly go-to way to get an instant buzz on.  Today’s kids are a bit more creative:
