Need an Instant Alibi? Try One of These Services

Ever find yourself in need to a really good, airtight alibi?

We’re not talking for any nefarious purposes, of course, but sometimes you need to tell a little fib to cover a story.

Maybe all you need is a replacement or additional credit card receipt to show that you really were at the fancy restaurant you claimed you took the client to.   Or maybe you botched the expense report by not keeping the receipts like you were supposed to?

Check out this year’s Celebrity Mascot Games!

The 17th annual CELEBRITY MASCOT GAMES are taking place on July 16th at Stetson University, and July 17th and 18th at Amway Arena in central Florida.

Each year since 1992, mascots from colleges, universities, and professional sports organizations have gotten together to prove, once and for all, who is the best mascot.

Some of the events the mascots have had to compete in the past were the obstacle course, giant bowling, dodgeball and jousting.  If you haven’t seen the clips on ESPN SportsCenter, you will this week.

Twecipes – Chefs Cook Up Recipes with Twitter

Everyone who uses Twitter knows that Twitter limits all tweets to 140-characters.

That means some people get very creative with their abbreviations and phrasing in order to squeeze every last bit of information into those 140-characters.

But even with that restriction, it is possible to write TWECIPES aka COOKING RECIPES in those 140 characters.

How To Find Your Lost Wallet

Find? How about “get it returned”?

A study in England dropped 240 wallets around town to see which wallets would get returned.

The wallets didn’t contain any money or other useful items, just receipts or ticket stubs.

However, there was one key difference in each wallet, which is what the study was all about:  DOES THE PHOTO YOU CARRY IN YOUR WALLET INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD THAT THE WALLET WOULD BE RETURNED?

The answer to that question, apparently, is “yes”.

The World’s Best Tourists for 2009

Tourist Trap

Expedia.com has released the results from their 2nd annual survey of the WORLD’S BEST TOURISTS, as voted on by Expedia partners.

27 nationalities were voted on by over 4500 hoteliers, and this is what they found:

  • The Japanese ranked 1st, for the 2nd year in a row.  They also were judged to be the quietest, most polite, cleanest, and least likely to complain
  • In 2nd place were the British
  • 3rd place went to Canadians
  • The French fell to the bottom of the list, mainly due to being perceived as bad tippers and being impolite.
  • Americans, Italians, and Spanish are the loudest tourists
