Game shows can run the gamut from educational (Jeopardy) to family challenge (Wheel of Fortune) to just plain silly (Double Dare).

And game shows have led to a number of common catchphrases that we still use today in other aspects of life:

Come on down!
X gets the square!
Big money, no whammies!
In the butt, Bob

Yet while we’re sitting at home watching and playing along with the contestants who are competing under-pressure, we KNOW that we always get the answers correct.

But under the pressure of the TV cameras, sometimes the contestants on the shows just get things a bit wrong.

Web Watch loves to participate in any gift-receiving holiday. Christmas, Easter, Hanukah, Arbor Day – you name it, if we’re pretty much guaranteed of getting a gift, we’ll embrace whatever holiday traditions we need to.

Yeah, getting too much stuff is never boring. And as we’ve said previously, we had all our holiday shopping done in just a few hours, but we may have missed getting the Ultimate Christmas Gift for those we were handing out presents to.

Of course, if you followed the OFFICIAL WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT EXCHANGE RULES, then you know that sometimes you may be the one who brought The Most Coveted Gift Of The Year, or have been left with a zonk.

Alas, “good pun” is also an oxymoron, as there are millions of people out there who think that the lowly pun is the worst form of a joke that’s possible.

It takes no thought, they say. It’s not funny, they lament.

Web Watch believes that these people are upset and angry because they didn’t think of the wordplay themselves first. Or they don’t get the pun in the first place.

Either way, puns are wasted on those folk. But that’s okay.

It’s one of the first rites of passage, from as soon as you’re born you’re instantly being compared to either your mother or your father.

You can’t avoid the comparison – even as you get older people are always comparing you to celebrities they know.

If you’re like Web Watch, you’ve likely spent hundreds – if not thousands – of quarters at the local mall arcade playing Pac-Man, Defender, Smash TV, Zaxxon, Spy Hunter, any number of pinball games like the Addams Family machine, iRobot, and many others.

And while you may have your own personal favorite to play because you were good at the game or you liked the storyline, there’s that one machine that everybody seems to love (or at least, think nostalic about) but everyone hated to play.
