Decorating the office with Post-It Notes

Post-it Notes
Post-it Notes

When non-destructive, office pranks can be fun.

Filling up somebody’s cubical or office with inflated balloons?  Fun.  Filling up somebody’s cubical or office with Silly String?  A little bit of a mess to clean-up, and usually left to the victim to do so on their own.

Web Watch has even covered an entire office’s items in tin foil and wrapping paper.  Definitely time-consuming and an absolute waste of money, but entertaining.   The best one we did was sheetrocking over the boss’s office door and painting the wall so it looked like the office was never there in the first place.  Oh, we’re still laughing about that one.

But sometimes it’s nice to include others in your office shenanigans.

The Perfect Game of Putt-Putt – it’s only happened three times since 1959

Idiots on the Miniature Golf Course
Idiots on the Miniature Golf Course

Rick Baird from Charlotte, North Carolina, is not an idiot, nor does he play “miniature golf”.

He plays Putt-Putt, and he’s really good at it.

Web Watch knows you’re confused — isn’t putt-putt golf and miniature golf the same thing?  No, dear reader, it isn’t.  Putt-Putt is a franchised company that defines a standard set of putting challenges that will be mainly the same from one Putt-Putt location to another.  Consistency is important here, and putting is a true skill to be showcased.

Miniature golf, on the other hand, is the one with windmills, gorillas, fake blue water, tunnels, obstacles, and other entertainment stuff scattered across the putting surface and environment.  Definitely not the same thing.

Fun with mugshots: Guess the Crime

Murder by Death
Murder by Death

Let’s face it. Mugshots are fun.

There’s a little schadenfreude with it as well, knowing that the person staring back at you from the mugshot gallery has allegedly done something wrong, and you haven’t.

And if Nick Nolte or other celebrity mugshots have proven anything, it’s just that some people make pretty funny police fodder.

Some last minute tips for your 2011 NCAA basketball tournament bracket

Wilson NCAA Men's Basketball 2011 Final Four Bracket Basketball
Wilson NCAA Men’s Basketball 2011 Final Four Bracket Basketball

For college basketball fans, it’s the week that matters.  When office workers everywhere stop pretending to do work when filling out their brackets and start pretending to do work while sneaking in a mini-TV to hide under their desks so they don’t miss a minute of CBS’s coverage.

This is one benefit of the switch to digital TV, that you won’t find as many portable TV sets hiding at the office as you used to — but there’s always the Internet, so as long as your network administrator hasn’t blocked access to the streaming video websites, you should be good.

So a few weeks ago, Web Watch shared some TIPS FOR FILLING OUT YOUR 2011 BASKETBALL BRACKET.  Since then, some additional information has come out that we thought we’d share with you.

Flash Fun: GemCraft Labyrinth

Lego Castle Defense
Lego Castle Defense

Last year, Web Watch told you about GEMCRAFT CHAPTER 0, one of the better, more involved games in the Tower Defense genre of computer games.

The folks at GAME IN A BOTTLE have been pretty busy recently, and have released a sequel entitled GEMCRAFT LABYRINTH.  And as sequels go, it’s a fine addition to the line.  If you’re a tower defense fan, you’ll definitely want to check this one out.

This year’s Jeopardy! online test starts February 8th, 2011

Prisoner of Trebekistan - a Decade of Jeopardy!
Prisoner of Trebekistan – A Decade of Jeopardy!

Many years ago, Web Watch had an opportunity to take the JEOPARDY! contestant test.

It wasn’t easy – 50 rapid-fire questions that were asked so quickly so as to not give you the opportunity to go back and correct answers that you thought you’d be able to answer later lest you lose track of the current questions being asked.

Needless to say, we’re sometimes not the best test takers under pressure.  We missed the cut to move to the next round by 2 wrong answers.

It happens. Maybe next time.
