A Disney Dilemma: What will autistic children like Ben Miles do without the Snow White attraction?

Snow White's Scary Adventures
Snow White’s Scary Adventures

SNOW WHITE’S SCARY ADVENTURES is a classic Disney dark ride in Fantasyland, one of the original rides at both Disneyland in California and at Walt Disney World.

Go out and ride the Walt Disney World version of the ride while you can, because it is going the way of Mr Toad’s Wild Ride.  That is, Disney is ripping the ride out to make way for a Disney Princess meet-and-greet.

What?

Web Watch will break this down for you, summing up what other websites have already said:  Walt Disney World is currently in the middle of a long-awaited (and much needed) multi-million dollar expansion of Fantasyland, originally with the following changes:

An explanation of why the other checkout line moves faster than yours

How to drive the bottom line with People First strategies
Built to Serve: How to Drive the Bottom Line with People-First Practices

A while back, Web Watch wrote about whether the EXPRESS LANE would be faster than a REGULAR LANE at the supermarket, based on the number of people you had to wait in line behind.

Some additional analysis has been done on the optimum supermarket (or large chain store) checkout practices, and you may be suprised at what they found:  THE LANE YOU CHOOSE TO WAIT ON WILL INVARIABLY TAKE LONGER THAN OTHERS.

The secret to being social? Having a big brain

Winnie the Pooh Dressed as Tigger
A Bear of Very Little Brain

Science has determined what makes some of us more social than others – and it all has to do with THE SIZE OF OUR BRAIN THAT DETERMINES OUR LEVEL OF SOCIALNESS.

And using this information, it also explains why dogs are more social creatures than cats are — simply because a dog’s brain is larger than a cat’s brain.

Ever wonder what professional sports cheerleaders do in their real lives?

Because they certainly can’t make a living on PROFESSIONAL CHEERLEADING alone, making from $50-$100 per game each season, you’re going to need something else to fall back on to support yourself.

Like a “real” job.

Science proves many pick-up truck drivers are idiots

1956 GMC Pickup
1956 GMC Pickup

Web Watch was driving down the highway the other day when we were almost part of an accident waiting to happen.

The doofus in the pick-up truck in front of us ended up slamming on his brakes for some reason, which led to all of us behind him having to quickly do the same.  While we had plenty of braking room in front of us under normal circumstances, he had his pickup truck tailgate down, taking away an extra foot of available brake space from our squealing tires.

Luckily, this was during the day and we could see that the tailgate was down, but if this same situation happened at night, that truck would be minus one tailgate and we would be minus one engine.

How better baserunning will win the World Series

Baseball - Skills & Drills: The FUNdamentals of Baserunning
Baseball – Skills & Drills: The FUNdamentals of Baserunning

One thing that Web Watch has trouble understanding is why the baseball season needs to extend out into November.

November is FOOTBALL season, as everyone knows.  Sure, throw in a little pre-season basketball or hockey if you’d like – at least those two are considered “winter” sports.  But baseball already has spring training, the boys of summer, and the fall classic.  Why do they need to bogart the winter season as well – it’s not like baseball is played outdoors in all types of weather, like we see with real sports like football.  Let’s keep the baseball playoffs to the fall months and be done with it.

Maybe the issue is that baseball players don’t really understand how to play the game.
